Seldom in our lives do we have the opportunity for experiences quite like this. If you can look past their Empire, which required – amongst other acts of violence – mass slaughters across multiple continents, the Roman Empire as a whole gave the world many great technological advancements, beautiful pieces of artwork, and timeless works of literature.
As I walked through these historic paths, looking up at structures that have been standing for millennia, I couldn’t help but also think: “so, this is what people will be doing in Washington DC 2,000 years from now after the collapse of the American Empire”. If you’ve ever wondered, this is what the future of DC will look like.
